The MM House, by Spanish architecture firm Olivier Hernaiz Architecture Lab (or OHLAB for short,) is a remarkably modern residence built on the sunny Spanish island of Mallorca. The home consists of four stark white, truncated cubes that are connected inside the building but from outside look almost randomly dropped.
Despite each volume's apparently random placement, MM House is carefully designed to maximize the views on the tops of a cliff that overlooks the Balearic Sea. Each cube is placed at a different angle, giving the residents of MM House a unique view depending on where they are in the building.
MM House's bright white exterior and interior may also seem superficially shocking, but this scheme has a very practical purpose -- Mallorca is incredibly sunny and the white surfaces reflect light, saving the residents money on air conditioning.
