Remember the 80's? Ghetto-blasters and mixtapes dominated that decade and everyone was making mixtapes for their breakdancing routines, for their friends, and the most important reason: for their crushes!

Alas, technology came and wiped the humble mixtape right off the map, but now there's Mixwit for all you retro-buffs and it lets you create and share virtual mixtapes from just about any song to share with your friends, embed in your blog posts, or just have a neat music player that let's you hear your favorite tunes in a retro-nostalgic way. Mixwit is bringing back the 80's one mixtape at a time.

Remember that crazy feeling of euphoric excitement when you handed over those mix tapes, with shaking hands, and you tried to play it cool and act like "it was no big deal"? Then you went home and drove yourself nuts wondering why they hadn't called you yet to tell you how your taste in music had sealed them to you as your soulmate forever? Then inevitably, you broke up and it was ugly and you gave her stuff back in a box and you got yours in return but the mixtape wasn't in it? Then that little tape was your excuse to "talk to them again" in the hopes of winning them back or actually getting your tape back because it had a piece of your soul in it?

There was a whole romanticism to it all.
