Artist Mike Glancey Has Created a Charming Lamp Using Toy Cars

Philadelphia-based artist Mike Glancey has created something which will be appreciated by anyone who remembers themselves playing with toy cars as children. The artist actually attached a number of tiny 'Hot Wheels' cars to some copper papers and wired them with lights. His creation is a fully functioning lampshade which, when turned on, shines light through the cars' headlamps.

This is an adorable work of art that could be adapted by inventive parents for their children's bedrooms. This one off piece has already been sold by the artist to 'The Social Lounge' restaurant in Westchester, Philadelphia.

This piece looks amazing when lit up at night or even as a hanging ornament during the daytime. This is an inventive example of how to evoke childhood nostalgia through a classic product.
