Interactive Carpet Displays

Miguel Chevalier Presents the Magic Carpets 2014 Exhibit in Morocco

Miguel Chevalier is an artist who loves to play with interactive light displays to get viewers involved. In his latest installation, Chevalier created the Magic Carpets 2014 design in Morocco. "The work references the world of biology, microorganisms, and cellular automata – as cells have the ability to multiply in abundance, divide and merge at different paces," states DesignBoom.

Regardless of the science represented in the exhibit, the display makes for a great piece of art to interact with. As users step on the carpet area the light dances and changes. The hues of the light also go from vibrant greens and reds to more subtle black and white colors. This is definitely the most literal form of a magic carpet people can experience these days.
