The Metropol Parasol is officially the largest wooden structure to ever grace the face of this planet. Of course, at first look it doesn't seem very large, but the longer you behold this behemoth architectural stunner, the more your mind will be boggled.
Designed by architect Jürgen Mayer H, the Metropol Parasol features a gridlike surface that stretches 150 by 70 meters, reaches an approximate height of 26 meters and features 8,000 timber elements. Based in Sevilla, Spain, the Metropol Parasol boasts a walkway and an observation deck, restaurants, bars and a farmer's market.
What is most fascinating about the Metropol Parasol is that it is held together by glue! Sevillanos refer to it as the Mushrooms of the Incarnation.
