With many consumers trying out the keto diet this year, chefs have been experimenting with low-carb alternatives that their diners can enjoy -- with the 'Meatzza' from celebrity chef Pete Evans being a perfect example.
To create the Meatzza, Evans joined forces with Carbone Coal Fired Pizza, with the two coming up with a series of paleo and keto-friendly dishes that would enable more consumers to enjoy its offerings. The dishes are a part of Carbone's Summer Pizza Menu Series, and will be available until September 2019.
As the name of it suggests, the Meatzza has a meat base, cutting out the dough traditional pizzas use so that it suits low carb dieters. The meat is expertly seasoned and rolled thinly, making each bite flavorful and crisp. Topping off the pizza are ingredients like tomato sauce, cheese, and fresh tomato and basil.
