Judging by the interior of Amsterdam restaurant 'Meat West,' it is difficult to imagine that it once housed a tram repair shop. There are many elements in the restaurant however to suggest that it once repaired trams.
Many of the repair shop's details have been maintained to give Meat West a bit of vintage charm. The restaurant has a long, tubular shape surrounded by large open windows and high ceilings. The dimensions and many of the existing structural details have not been changed, adding a sense of history to the space. Also, the restaurant opted to keep the tram tracks on the ground, providing a unique visual pattern.
Meat West's tables and chairs are also set up to resemble a tram ride. In between each of the tables is a window-like divider that further reinforces the room's historic roots.
