Marc Jacobs has recently released a limited edition skateboard deck for the fashion-conscious skater. Fashion designers are always exploring new avenues to showcase their talents, so it was only a matter time until one of them designed a skateboard deck.
The Road Rash skate deck will use seven-ply Canadian maple and has a unique scratch-off graphic concept. The scratch-off concept, to simplify, is basically putting a layer of one design over another. The concept is used to show off the number of times the deck has been used, and to showcase a new design for the deck. The more it’s been scratched, the more visible the underlying design will be.
Currently, the designer label is only offering 150 of the limited edition decks to Marc Jacobs consumers. With a pre-order price tag of $69 for the deck, it’s a nice buy for the high end skateboarder.
