As a new health initiative for gay and bi-sexual men, the Terrence Higgins Trust has created a new 'Man Up' Game for Facebook. In attempt to reach their target audience, the game provides crucial information on the transmittance of STIs and other sexual health information. The game itself will feature players attempting to avoid not getting knocked out of the game of jumping between beds by the "love bug." When users are hit with the "love bug," they are required to go to the "floating clinic."
Not only is information about the STIs provided, but it also lets users know where to get screened close to them. The campaign is set to run on Facebook for one year, and web advertising will play a big part on getting users to play. Getting an extremely important message to audiences while incorporating fun and drawing people to the issue itself is difficult, but this new interactive campaign is looking to do just that.
