Comic books have been criticized as illustrating women too scantily, so comic book-lover and illustrator Stephen Byrne decided it would be funny to imagine male superheroes in the same fashion. The project titled 'If Male Superheroes Were Treated Equally By Pin-Up Artist' features iconic male superheroes like Batman, The Flash and Super Man as sexy pin-up models.
The re-imaged men illustrations are extremely comical. Batman looks more like a dominatrix than his usually masculine self, The Flash is bare-chested and Superman is depicted in a sexy pose. The heroes look ridiculously funny, which raises the question as to why pin-up women aren't seen in the same way? If Stephen decided to illustrate super-heroines for the project instead, he probably wouldn't have received as much attention because they would seem normal.
