More art than lighting, the Made by Breath collection is almost too beautiful to behold, especially when lit. It re-imagines the traditional light fixture by using typical materials in a rather atypical fashion. By combining crystal and glass with electricity in unexpected ways, the collection pays tribute to two different styles of Czech craft heritage.
Considering that designer Michaela Tomišková hails from the Czech Republic makes that very appropriate. The first involves Moser glasswork from Karlovy Vary, which focuses on pure cut crystal glass while the second revolves around Kavalier, which is famous for its special tubular laboratory glass called Simax. Thus, the Made by Breath collection is comprised of practical lights that also concentrate on form.
