Lumiere London is a new lights festival taking over the English capital throughout the month of January 2016. The illuminating arts festival is free for everyone and was organized and put on by the organization Artichoke with support from the Mayor of London.
High traffic locations included in the festival are Bafta 195 Piccadilly, where the facade was lit up with the faces of British film and television stars, and the Garden of Light installation, which took over Leicester Square. Other installations are featured at Oxford Circus, the Carnaby retail district and Porte Par Le Vent.
Lumiere London was conceived as a means of enticing visitors into the city on what is considered the "dreariest weekend of the year."
