The Linx IAS uses an accelerometer and gyroscope to measure forces on the user's head. The gadget can simply be slid into a skull cap or headband and is suitable for both warm or cold weather.
It sends data via Bluetooth Smart to an accompanying smartphone app, where the athlete or athlete's manager can analyze pertinent data. The device sends an alert whenever a concussion-level impact occurs, so players or their coaches can take action rightaway.
