Grupo Boticário, in collaboration with Brazil’s CESAR Innovation Hub, has introduced the Smart Lipstick® — a groundbreaking AI-powered lipstick application system designed to enhance inclusivity in the beauty industry.
This innovative prototype was developed over seven years. It combines artificial intelligence, computer vision, and robotic technology to provide precise, automated lipstick applications for individuals with motor disabilities or visual impairments. The AI-powered lipstick application system uses advanced imaging to map the user’s lips and applies lipstick with a robotic arm. The process takes around two minutes. The technology behind Smart Lipstick® aims to address challenges such as traditional packaging designs that require significant dexterity and applicators that may be difficult for those with motor limitations. The innovation has already been showcased in select stores and events across Brazil.
