3D-Printed Lingerie

Jess Haughton's Lingerie Designs Use Silicone to Eliminate Visible Lines

Fashion student Jess Haughton is turning to 3D printing technology in order to create customized lingerie designs that will result in zero visible panty lines. What makes Haughton's process particularly unique is that she uses additive manufacturing for the purposes of securing garments with silicone, meaning that no elastic or stitching is required. The use of this material also creates a more flexible material to work with. When printed onto sheer mesh, silicone serves as a contemporary alternative to lace.

The 23-year-old designer from Nottingham Trent University is on a mission to modernize the lingerie market and prove that available technology can be used to create made-to-measure pieces that flatter each and every women.

Designs created by Haughton include everything from 3D-printed bodysuits to bras and thongs.
