In Thailand, it is not uncommon for building owners to add additional layers over existing surfaces to create patterned exteriors. These ‘ad-hoc facades’ are the inspiration behind the Lightmos Thonglor building by Bangkok-based architecture practice Architectkidd.
The designers at Architectkidd turned the Lightmos Thonglor structure from an old shop house into a lighting showroom. Pursuing the idea of an ‘accidental’ facade, they initiated different design experiments, which resulted in the circular holes seen here on the exterior of the Lightmos Thonglor.
