The Last Wine Company recently launched a line of Walking Dead-inspired wine that utilizes the free app Living Wine Labels. The wine -- which was released in celebration of the show's Season 8 premiere -- utilizes the app to create interactive AR labels, which feature the show's protagonist as well as a collection of zombies. The Living Wine Labels app was first introduced by Treasury Wine Estates for its 19 Crimes Brand, which utilized AR to feature portraits of infamous convicts in Australia's history.
The Last Wine Company currently offers two expressions in its Walking Dead category, each of which have a distinct AR label. The first is the 'Blood Red Blend,' with a label that features Rick Grimes starring down a horde of zombies. When the app is launched and pointed at the label, the scene becomes animated and the hero fights off the monsters. The second wine is known simply as 'Cabernet Sauvignon' and features an oncoming onslaught of zombies. When the AR lens is applied to this label, a single creature breaks out of the label and smashes into the phone screen.
