Jimmy Kimmel took it upon himself to bring the Guinness World Record for world’s largest meatball back to the USA after discovering that Mexico had recently acquired this great title. The Mexican world’s largest meatball weighed 109 lbs and was done as part of a promotional stunt to promote the movie ‘Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.'
Kimmel’s team used 200 pounds of ground meat to created what Kimmel describes as, "the largest meatball human hands have ever made." Guinness World Record officials witnessed the weighing in of the 152 lbs initial effort. Subsequently, Kimmel’s team had also made a back-up meatball that weighed 196.8 lbs. No word on whether there are plans on making the world’s largest plate of spaghetti to accompany the world’s largest meatball.
