The Lana Del Ray H&M Ad Features Her Singing Blue Velvet

It’s hard to go out in the city and not see a Lana Del Ray H&M ad these days. This music video directed by John Renck features the songstress singing the 1950s hit Blue Velvet while wearing the H&M Fall collection. H&M says that it designed the collection with Del Ray in mind so that it would match with her own personal style.

The most striking thing about Del Ray’s performance throughout the entire campaign and her own music videos is how remarkably little she moves. This is basically what Saturday Night Live found funny about her performance on its show as well. With the slow and smooth type of music she sings it must be hard to perform in a particularly interesting manner—granted. Maybe next time she can come out with a dance album, just so we can see her a bit more lively.
