'Laiye' is the name of a unique mobile butler service that is styled like a messaging app, but sets itself apart by helping users to complete simple tasks with human and automated artificially intelligent assistants.
With this application, users are able to execute tasks like ordering coffee and booking flights with greater efficiency than they can provide themselves. To complete tasks, Laiye will send requests to other relevant services and for any requests that are too complex for the automated system to handle, Laiye turns to its staff of 60 humans for help.
Since the unique app seems to boast technology that rivals the likes of Apple's Siri and Microsoft's Cortana, the Chinese start-up recently received funding from Microsoft, which is making an effort to invest in global start-ups that are developing the future of AI.
