Art is a powerful tool that can be used to send out a message of hope and love to those who are in need, and the typography poster by artists Kyosuke Nishida, Brian Li and Dominic Liu does just that. Entitled Words Can Fly, this 3D art work was created for the Japanese people. After the Tsunami and nuclear tragedy of 2011, Japanese citizens had to gather all their courage to rebuild their lives.
Therefore, this group of artists decided to support their community by designing an art piece that transmits hope. They based their design on a millenarian Japanese tradition called Senbazuri. Creative director Kyosuke Nishida explains, "It is customary to fold these cranes to wish someone luck...We wanted to pay tribute to this custom through the process of constructing the paper sculpture." The mesmerizing poster is made of white paper and has little cranes where colorful birds seem to be coming out. Additionally, the words on the paper sculpture communicate a positive message.
