The Kubya Lamp Combines Rare Materials into a Beautiful Package

The Kubya lamp by Maison Rêve de Louis is an incredibly luxurious piece of lighting that is limited to nine made-to-order-pieces and comes with a price-tag of $199,000. The lamp is constructed of varnished carbon, the same kind found on a Formula 1 race car, yachts and luxury car brands. Only four molds were used to create the unique parts of the lamp, which were then finished in France by skilled carbon specialists.

While the base of the Kubya lamp is just carbon fiber, the body features gold accents. The body is adorned with strips of 18-karat gold, running the length of the piece, and even the 24 tiny screws are made of the same 18-carat gold. Each screw is produced and adjusted in France, by the hands of a master jeweler. Eighteen diamonds are also featured in the gold "baguettes" that adorn the lamp and come out to 1.74 carats of diamonds.
