Australian furniture brand Koala has announced the launch of its newest homeware collection that centers around the use of certified Responsible Wool. The collection consists of a range of playfully named pieces such as 'The Beach Bum Cushion,' 'The Bush Walk Cushion,' 'The Sand Dune Throw,' 'The Rockpool Throw,' and the 'The Shear Bliss Rug.'
As their names suggest, all of the pieces intend to evoke the look and feel of Australian nature. For example, The Bushwalk Cushion is essentially a jacquard pillow that features a monochrome design with textured fabrics that draw inspiration from gum tree bark. Meanwhile, the Sand Dune Throw features a wavy black and white pattern that draws design inspiration from Australia's coastal landscapes.
"We’ve created a real sense of something special you can’t get anywhere else, with all colors and material finishes inspired by the Australian landscape, from outback red dirt to beautiful coral reefs," said Alexandra Owen, Koala’s design director.
