Egg-Shaped Snack Sets

'Kinder Joy' Introduces a Reformatted Version of the Kinder Surprise

For years, Kinder Surprise has been delighting consumers with egg-shaped chocolates that contain a toy inside—and the Kinder Joy puts a fresh new spin on this idea.

While Kinder brand chocolates are sold in 170 countries around the world, the classic Kinder Surprise could not be sold in the United States due to an FDA regulation that prohibits the sales of confections containing "non-nutritive objects." Because the Kinder Joy has two compartments that are completely separated, the Kinder Joy is set to be introduced to the American market. One half of the packaging contains wafer bites, layered creams and a spoon, while the other includes a small toy.

Many toys and confections are now being designed with a focus on their unwrapping, inspired by the popular phenomenon of "unboxing" videos on YouTube.
