Kew House by Piercy&Company; Marries Tradition with Modernity

The Kew House by Piercy&Company is a striking home that marries its traditional shell with a modern addition to create a fusion of old and new elements.

Located "behind a retained nineteenth century stable on a small suburban site in south west London, two archetypal volumes of weathering steel stand connected by a glazed stairwell." The volumes house a family of four and are a contemporary ode to traditional craftsmanship.

Working to bring together small spaces was one of the main objectives for local design studio Piercy&Company who separated spaces with levels and corners rather than doors.

Kew House features a family room and kitchen-diner on its ground level and children’s room and master bedrooms on its upper floors. A glazed stairwell in the home divides it into two major areas, one that faces a residential street and another that is more private.
