Plans are set to launch the new Joya playground for the Texas town of Farmers Branch, which is just outside of Dallas. It will be building the first glowing playground in the nation and was recently approved by city officials in 2021. Installation kicked off earlier this week and Joya will take over a space of 18,000 square feet.
'Joya' is a Spanish translation that means 'jewel' and boasts designs that represent the suburb's dreams to create a 'crown jewel' park. Within the space will be a 27-foot climbing sphere with six levels, a series of slides, swings, a zip line, glowing seats, an obstacle course, a spin zone, and a sound system that emits nature audio. Additionally, there will also be a smaller playground added for children aged 2-5.
