Interactive Motion Installations

The Lumibolic Electroluminescent Wire Sculpture Moves to Sound

Creatives Steve Lee and Meredith Sattler recently put together an interactive motion and sound installation entitled Lumibolic that is able to react to different movements and audio provided by visitors and offer changing light patterns. The art piece is created using electroluminescent wires that transmit different strands of colored lights. The lights are able to react in direct contact with the visitors, making each experience personalized to how the visitor chooses to enter the space.

The installation features geometric shapes formed out of the electroluminescent wire strands that form large linear canopies visitors can interact with. Each person's movements and voices further engage with the installation, prompting the lights to change accordingly to each person's body. The lights respond in visual patterns forming criss-crosses or changing colors.
