While a lot of construction and architecture involves the destruction of the nature surrounding it, this integrated landscape hotel was built with a very different process.
The 'Nashare Hotel' was designed by 'C + Architects' and is located in Xiamen, China. It is quite small with only 12 bedrooms but despite its subtle outside appearance, the rooms all feature enormous boulders. The boulders were once part of the rocky landscape of Xiamen and rather than move or destroy them, C + Architects designed around them.
While it is not a common sight to see a rustic hotel room that has walls made up of enormous boulders that jut out into the room, it certainly makes for a powerful design statement.
