International satellite company Inmarsat has announced the launch of 'Velaris,' a one-of-a-kind global connectivity solution for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The new IoT-based solution is powered by Inmarsat's ELERA satellite and works by enabling a range of UAVs to fly without visual sight.
Innovative and dynamic, the solution provides UAV operators with a variety of features. Most notably, however, is the platform's superior real-time air traffic monitoring, a feature that will apply to various industries, from cargo delivery to urban transport and emergency services.
Not surprisingly, safety is at the center of Inmarsat's new product, which looks to revolutionize air traffic management by offering users a tool for maximizing aviation safety.
