In an effort to expand its wellness program, the stylish New York City hotel 11 Howard teamed up with HigherDOSE to offer guests access to luxurious infrared saunas. Designed to detox the body and bring a healthy glow to the skin, the new saunas offer guests a luxurious way to relax.
As of this June, 11 Howard begun offering one-hour sessions in its infrared saunas to both guests and New York City locals. The saunas themselves are designed by HigherDOSE and are specially designed for "getting you hot and high." The ideas is that the saunas cause the release of feel-good chemicals such as dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins, thereby giving the user an all-natural high. At the same time, the saunas also help to detox the body of heavy metals, reduce muscle tension, promote healthy sleep and leave the skin glowing. As a result, guests are meant to walk away feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
As 11 Howard's general manager Anis Khoury explains, "In a world where none of us ever have enough time, doing a treatment that checks off three wellness categories — detox, anti-aging and weight loss — is something everyone is instantly intrigued by."
