Apple's most recent update has unveiled a new and improved inclusive emoji update.
To celebrate World Emoji Day, Apple unveiled a collection of more ethically focused emojis including a woman wearing a headscarf and a woman breastfeeding. Apple also responded to critics by replacing the "revolver" emoji with a green water gun. 'New Yorkers Against Gun Violence' was pushing for the removal of the revolver emoji, as they said it promoted the visibility of gun violence.
While these images may seem commonplace in life, it is a positive move in the right direction to include images that promote inclusivity in our online presences. Unfortunately fans will have to wait until Apple's iOS, macOS and watchOS are released later this year.
