The IKEA INDUSTRIELL range is set to launch in April of this year, offering a vibrant collection of furnishings and decor that reduces waste and embraces the use of scrap materials. For the collection, IKEA partnered with Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek, who IKEA has dubbed "the uncrowned king of scrap wood furniture."
Although designs that are mass produced are often stripped of qualities that give them character, IKEA's Creative Leader Karin Gustavsson says that "INDUSTRIELL is all about bringing a sense of imperfect uniqueness to what's serial produced—while being super-efficient in the process."
The affordable IKEA INDUSTRIELL collection features chairs, stools, tables, vases and woven lamp shades, which celebrate the beauty of unfinished surfaces and raw materials.
