Hungarian designer Laszlo Tompa, has managed to create a collection of lamps that are far from the usual. Through his completely original version of home lighting that is called Hydro Lamps, he has been able to reinvent the way we view light. These hanging lamps are oddly shaped and they reflect an interesting way to create light in one’s home.
Inspired by sea creatures, Tompa wanted to portray their aesthetic through his work. The interesting shape of the Hydro Lamps is made to mimic the way underwater animals such as the cuttlefish, Medusa and polyps look. Tompa wanted to evoke the feeling of these animals giving off light, since some of them do in their real form. These lamps are completely made out of a solid wood and would act as a statement piece in any household.
