This piece of architecture made of haystacks is called the ‘Watchhouse Brinta’ and was created by Studio Makkink & Bey Tytsjerk.
The Watchhouse can be found sitting in a field somewhere in the Dutch countryside. It is a small house made out of wood and straw. Objects such as a desk and chair sit on top of straw bales and a blanket and pillow represent a bed.
The house is one of 13 projects that form part of the ‘Vijverberg Vi’ exhibition in Tytsjerk. The curator, Dutch Art Historian Ankie Bomstrais, chose 13 artists to submit pieces based on the theme of ‘time is short and definite, derived from the sundial in the park.
