These Two Victorian Homes Have Been Connected into One Open Living Space

London-based Delvendahl Martin Architects created this lovely home extension that combines two semi-detached houses into one beautiful family residence.

Located in the center of the city of Oxford, England, this open concept home originally consisted of two separate Victorian houses. The architects proceeded to combine the buildings with a two-storey brick and glass home extension featuring two staircases located in the middle of the plan. The two staircases are also unique with one constructed from reclaimed brick and the other built with dark stained timber.

The newly formed 3,767 square foot structure has an open living space plan with contemporary decorative touches throughout including custom-made furniture and wooden timber handrails. The end result is a contemporary family home that still retains its charming Victorian period aesthetic.
