Hoang Minh Architects have put together a house in Hanoi for a diplomat of the area. The house is made from reused material taken from the structure that previous stood in its place, and with great care by the builders. Terracotta tiles line the top roof of the house, along with reused brick that looks better with age. For a diplomat, this is an ideal sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the city of Hanoi.
In the center of the building is a sacred item for people to gather around during cultural gatherings and social meetings, which is custom in a Vietnamese home such as this. The Vietnamese people are quite spiritual, so having a symbolic object in the house is not out of the ordinary.Photo Credits: designboom
