An Empty Ugly Lot is Turned Into the Hayes Valley Farm

The Hayes Valley Farm will be taking over a proposed 239-unit development in San Francisco. Before the rebel farmers (using that term lightly since their project is sponsored by the San Francisco Parks Trust) ever thought about hoeing and planting, the lot was empty and ugly.

The Hayes Valley Farm is doing awesome so far, as it offers classes, workshops, work parties, site tours--the absolute works. It's great to see something beautiful created out of nothing.
