Cave Art Light Shows

'Grotte Stellaire' by Julien Salaud Turns Primitive Murals into LEDs

Art space Palais de Tokyo recently housed a luminescent art installation entitled 'Grotte Stellaire' by Julien Salaud. This light show is an interesting approach to showcasing primitive art as it uses LEDs to precisely duplicate the original cave murals.

This luminescent installation is three-dimensional sculpture set in a darkened gallery space. A coiling wall structure depicting deers and stars shine brightly when lit with an ultraviolet lighting system. The deers are in various motions, some galloping while others cluster in a herd. The ceiling and walls are intertwined, connected with the lighting sculpture which was installed by Salaud and a trained anthropologist.

Viewers can see the stringed sculpture woven in striking lines, creating a drastic web of meticulous art designs. 'Grotte Stellaire' by Julien Salaud is a brilliant art installation that portrays primitive art with modern-ttday technology.
