Tokyo's 'Vegeo Vegeo' is a Greengrocer with Style

As an alternative to purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables from the supermarket, those in Tokyo, Japan, now have the option to buy from a designer greengrocer called 'Vegeo Vegeo.'

The design of Vegeo Vegeo, the first branch in what soon will be a chain, was created by Masamichi Katayama’s Wonderwall and with graphic designer Naomi Hirabayashi. At the store, leeks, tomatoes and other fruits and vegetables arranged neatly in a way that reminds of displays at a stylish boutique clothing store. As well as being able to pick up a range of organic goods from the shop, consumers also have the option to purchase branded smoothies, Miyazaki tea or make the most of the home delivery service.

Considering that there has been a rise in plant-based eating, as well as vegetarian menus and vegan restaurants, designer grocery stores like this one may not be an off-the-wall concept.
