The Green Bean House Features a Spiraling Interior Design Plan

Arctic Studio designed the 'Green Bean house,' a family home located in Onsala, Sweden.

Though the exterior of the home is made up of a boxy volume, the interior features an "organic spiral motion" in terms of spatial sequence. The design plan ensures that each space flows smoothly and effortlessly into the next.

The architects also focused their design on maintaining energy efficiency and maximizing the potential of sun radiation. To do so, they opened the volume out towards the south and closed it off on the north side. Meanwhile, the eastern and western facades of the house are covered in vegetation, along with the roof. Transparency is created throughout the house by ensuring the home's entrance interacts with the private garden.
