Swiss architect Peter Zumthor has designed a collection of permafrost-like glass condiment containers suitable for grains and liquids for the Italian design brand Alessi.
The artist recalls making the sketches a very long time ago and mentions that he spontaneously remembered them and decided to start them as a project. "At once, I took the sketch down to my model workshop and asked Iris to produce a series of glycerine soap models according to the sketch which should look like brothers and sisters, small and big but all members of the same family. She shaped a beautiful menagerie of glycerine soap objects resembling frosted glass" recalls Peter Zumthor.
The elegant and frost-like surface of the condiment containers is very chic and dapper. Their classic design will suit any kitchen and dinner table seamlessly.
