East London studio Mustard Architects were commissioned to renovate the property of an Edwardian house in West London and the firm utilized a geometric architecture approach with "angular glazed doors set into [an] asymmetric gabled facade." Borrowing structural elements and motifs from Brutalist architecture and combining them with white paint and light-transparent design, the studio is successful in creating a contemporary exterior and interior.
Extremely detail-oriented, Mustard Architects abides by strict planning restrictions, while simultaneously creating a beautiful harmony between the exposed "sculptural qualities" of "the steelwork, joists and rafters." The geometric architecture is contained within the structure of the angled hallway that ends with an open concept kitchen, dinning space and a comfortable snug area.
