Samsung recently announced the winners of the Samsung Mobile Design Competition and in the wallpaper category, Kalle Järvenpää won for creating the Garden of Galaxy. The unique wallpaper design uses an algorithm to generate a unique flower for each user's device. The flower "sprouts" based on random "genes" and contextual factors, such as the user's environment. When a user registers their Samsung Galaxy device, the idea is that they would get a unique "seed" that will grow until it eventually blossoms over the course of a month. Over time, new blooms form and new saplings appear.
While most of the plant's appearance is randomly generated, the Garden of Galaxy mobile wallpaper does give device users the chance to choose their favorite color for the virtual flower.
