It’s rare that someone can challenge the legendary Stanley Kubrick in the visual department, but that’s exactly what Frank Stockton has done in his stunning depiction of Alex DeLarge from ‘A Clockwork Orange.’ Equally as impressive are Stockton’s personal interpretations of scenes from Hunger Games, Star Wars and other memorable films. He uses cinema as a springboard for wildly inventive imagery, and his unique rendering style easily catapults him into my pantheon of favorite artists.
Frank Stockton currently works as an illustrator based in Brooklyn, New York. He explains that he went through a phase of discovery in trying to integrate color into his creations. After much experimentation, he decided to illustrate in a manner similar to classic Disney cartoons and American comic books. In my opinion, he’s transcended both of those inspirations.
