Marcel is the designer behind the Floled Light, which is made to replicate the look of a blooming flower without the delicate lifespan of the plant. It is made by hand and certain parts can be replaced if it is damaged. There are six petals that make up the Floled and each one of these is designed with 20 LEDs to create 120 in total.
Additionally, each petal also has its own microcontroller so that it can operate on its own rather than with one another. This means that if one goes out, then it can be replaced. To live up to its DIY element, it starts with a custom-printed circuit board and then the LEDs are soldered down.
