Cordless Kinetic Lighting

Post Fossil's First Light Works Like a Grandfather Clock

First Light is a cordless table lamp that doesn't require batteries, electricity or solar power to function. Instead its own moving parts generates enough energy for it to be used. It harnesses power from its weight-driven mechanisms, which happen to be very similar to the ones found in grandfather clocks. The First Light lamps relies on gravity to turn its cogs and gears in order to work.

Created by Post Fossil, a design studio based in Zurich, Switzerland, the First Light table lamp is a limited edition product. It has a metal base and clear glass shade that allows the First Light's mechanics to be viewed. A beautiful, sophisticated creation, it has a subtle steampunk aesthetic that will appeal to many.
