Fine by Virgilio Villoresi tells the story of a solider, starting at birth and ending with death. All the characters in the story are painted onto Villoresi's hands with little googly eyes on his fingers.
The video includes no speaking, but only sound effects and music, which actually adds value instead of detracting. Villoresi does a wonderful job personifying his hands with moods, especially when the solider begins to shake while hearing bombs and gunshots on the battlefield. The story begins with birth and eventually the young man is enrolled in the army and eventually killed by being shot in the stomach. The video ends with Villoresi's two fingers crossed and painted black to look like a cross tombstone.
Fine by Virgilio Villoresi shows that storytelling can often be more powerful without words.
