Portland, Oregon-based artist and feminist Rachele Cateyes offer a body positive message that cast a critical eye towards fatphobia with these colorful illustrations that combat fat shaming.
The illustrated series takes fat shaming head-on and is titled 'Glorifying Obesity' in response to comments Cateyes had received from critics of her body positive movement. The series features a collection of playful illustrations decorated with animals, flowers and self portraits that challenge bullying and harassment aimed towards different body types.
The drawings also include inspiring messages aimed towards critics like "Not Your Health Concern," "Double Chin Club" and "My Body, My Business" and help show that having a different type of body from the mainstream conception of an ideal figure is nothing to apologize for or be ashamed of.
