App-Connected Veggie Packaging

This City Farm Shop Concept Features Only Hyper-Local Produce

Created by Abbie Worton, this retail concept for an urban farm shop features wooden crates and boasts an app that offers plenty of detailed information on each product and its origin when scanned. All of the produce and items for sale in the Root Farm Shop was harvested no further than 30-miles from the store.

Other notable aspects of the store concept include chalkboards, brick walls and other design elements that add a rustic feel, uncomplicated feel. The store also features a map on which each product carried in the store is mapped back to its place of origin, with a biography of the farmer and farm.

Given the growing insistence on sustainably produced, local produce, an app-connected feature that takes consumers straight to the source seems like the natural next step in packaging.
