Photographer Fabien Nissels fragments the human form in his 'Blocks' image series. The Swiss photographer's Human Blocks project divides the parts of a human body and transfers these images onto a series of custom made cubed three-dimensional forms.
The photographer began the project by capturing his friend's different body parts and later created blocks adorned with the real life image segments. While individually fragmented, these large block creations can be configured back together and assembled to create a robot inspired human being.
Fabien Nissels plays with his creations and experiments with a variety of block combinations in this humorous, surreal and sometimes mildly sinister portrait series. Guaranteed to catch one's attention, these striking and cleverly conceived images defy tradition, play with perception and dare to push visual boundaries.
